Calvin wins
I have always been a big comic fan. When I was in school I used to look forward to train travels so I could read Chacha Chowdhary.Never found that particular one in book stores or libraries.Only in the railway stations. Not that it was great or anything. But back then it was.
Archies were a favourite too. However beyond a point you get bored with them.
And now its Canvin n Hobbes.Nothing to beat it..This guy just rocks!!
There are two things (in fact the only two things) I read in the paper..One is calvin and the other is my daily horoscope :-)
And Calvin is not just a comic. It can never be read like a book.
I can only read a strip a day.Cos it always has a message for me.And I notice it influences the rest of my day too.

I too used to wait for a train journey to read Phantom published by Diamond comics. I don't usually get satisfied with one comic a day and try to read more if possible..
U read Horoscope.. aka Horrorscope :-o
Wow talk abt getting signs from the newspaper :p
Ahh u have reminded me of comics. I can't remember the last time I read one. Be it tinkle, superman, archies, Astrix, or Tintin, they always had me transfixed. I was introduced to Calvin and Hobbes when my friend bought the entire series as a gift for his fiance. I never got to read any though !!!
Hmmm... memories !
my ex-roomie had a big collection of Calvin & Hobbes, Tintin and Astrix. it was awesome.
I used to love reading Chacha Choudhary comics too... used to finish the book in one reading without moving from tht place
As you rightly pointed out for a break C&H is the best (Archies comes a close second). However for extended reading there is no competition to Asterix. Unfotunately I have consumed the entire collection, hence I have started with Tintin.
Check out Dilbert they are also equally good, to bring some smiles.
In Times of India's there is this nice square - C&H, Garfield, Dennis and Archie.
Calvin and Hobbes? Yay! I have company. Prabs, try Ph.D comics (piled higher and deeper) although you might not relate to the stuff in that one cuz it has everything to do with grad studies in the US. Give it a shot anyway. And as for you reading horoscopes... *starts to say something, but whistles and walks away*..
BTW, who do u prefer? Calvin or Hobbes? or even Susie?
OH btw, try http://www.calvinandhobbes.com
and http://www.phdcomics.com
These are my favorite websites ;) and there are others that i can't mention in public :D
Hey Prabha vaalu,
Long time no see :-D How you?
BTW you subscribe to ucomics?
The lives we live are often no different Prabha... the grandiose illusions... making sense out of nonsense... going schizoprenic... C&H do help us in not taking life too seriously...don't they?! :)
Been a while...
