Anniyan - Disappointment
What to look out for:
1.Vivek's comedy track- *****
2.Vikram's acting-****
3.Songs - *** Foot tapping numbers.Leaves you humming "Randaka Randaka".
"Kaadhal Yaanai Remo" has been picturised nicely-stylish.Yana Gupta adds colour.She looks hot!Both Vikram and Yana have amazing screen presence.Even "Kannum Kannum Nokia" sounds good inspite of its absolutely crappy lyrics.
4.Nothing is left unexplained.The story line is good.The exaggeration spoils it.
What could have been better :
1.The First 10 minutes -They show Ambi picking up fights
for different(all possible) reasons-What a bore!
2.Overdose of Violence-gross!
3.Over over dose of graphics and hi-fi lookin sets.The movie has got Shankar painted -in -red all over it.Hits your eyes like bright lights.
4.Back Ground Music-could have been something better than "Oh-sha-ko-mi-ya" whenever Anniyan appears!
5.Remo-Over Peter.Unbearable!
Final word-Its not a must-watch.Can watch it if you are ok with the violence.But you will definetely not feel great when you leave the movie hall.Its kinda depressing.

Hmm, even I heared the movie is not so good. In between, I watched War of the Worlds from Symphony. The beginning was too good, the special effects was too good, but ended drastically. The aliens which everyone thought would terminate life in Earth were defeated so easily.

Nice review Prabha. There is no chance of it being shown where i live so i don't have to worry about whether or not i should watch it.
Vivek's comedy was good. But then I wouldn't say it was way too good. Its his usual comedy and since it turns out to be a comeback for him, it has created the impact it has, I feel.
As for Anniyan vikram, he really rocked. I liked the way they show things through his eyes, with strands of hair falling down his face.
The first half was a total washout while I would wanna see the movie again for its second half. There was one bit where Shankar was careless to deviate from logic.
Ambi pounces on everyone for not following rules. But when he goes to meet the sabha secretary for sada's chance, he does not get wild on him trying play nepotism. He had to take the Anniyan form to do that.
u don't hav any good point to say about the movie ???. Highlight that if u find any. I feel that its a must watch movie thats what all review says. Atleast for the message which shankar is trying to convey.

Different opinions about vikram's acting.I enjoyed the last bit when he changes to and fro between anniyan and ambi.Iam sure theres some trick involved though

Vivek's irritation in the train, when everyone starts singing is hilarious... the best part was vivek's retort to the uncle saying "I have got the kalai ma mani award.. I cant sing or what ?".. vivek goes "You are talking of getting kalai ma mani award and I am trying to get the kalai mama mani award.."
thats just too much, everytime I think of that dialouge I just crack up..
the rest of the fare is boring and ordinary.. gentleman had a mystery element concealed all through.. this had nothing of that sort...
the most ridiculous part was the heroine not recogonising Remo as Ambi till the last moment.. That I found was really dumb...

this was a comeback to tamil movies flick for me (yaa watched a tamil movie on screen after 8 or 9 loooooong years)
hated the violence - waz gross..

The part in the train was really funny..that was the best :) I liked the dialogue about kamal the best :D

movie was nice, sad testimony to the times where even ambi's dad comes up with a technicality in the law why he can't be prosecuted..
Wonder how deep the social message will be taken by the masses.
I loved the part where anniyan does the video comparison of tokyo and singapore.. Wonder what the hell we did wrong.. But then he did give the most obvious answer probably..
Even the 10 paisa dialogue was kewl!

Self-Discipline is a difficult thing to bring about.Stricter rules will probably solve the problem.
And again our country is so diverse setting rules is also difficult.It will take time for things to get better.But personally I feel the movie is a big exaggeration.There are people who care too.Its shown as if we are all a bunch of mean heartless people!

U r right!The message is good.What I meant is the way its been picturised is not effective.It doesnt reach everyone in the same way.It cudve been picturised in a better way.
will appeal to local yokels who have not watched 'the matrix'. scenes are shamelessly copied. walked off after the first 15 min. caught glimpses in between n' had to look away with a groan. have to admit that the last 10 min. were very good tho!! all-in-all, a very overrated movie, i'd say.
